Club Introduction

11 January 2016

Sherborne St John Football Club was originally formed in 1981 and the club is dedicated to youth football development. We welcome all players aged 6 years old to adulthood. Our youth teams play in Peter Houseman Sunday League (PHYL), whilst older age groups tend to be promoted to a more competitive North East Hampshire Youth League (NEHYL). Sherborne St John Men Football team plays in Saturday Basingstoke and Districts league.

The football club is based in the Chute Recreation Ground, in Sherborne St John, and it is solely used for home fixtures on Saturdays for the Men’s team and Sundays for Youth’s teams. We are really proud to welcome you at the Chute to host our fixtures as it is one of the best natural surfaces in Basingstoke area, built with a modern pavilion and changing rooms.

Club is run by volunteers and organised around an elected committee. All managers and administrators hold qualifications, following the Hampshire FA best practices to promote and develop grass-root football within the community and rewarded by the FA Charter standard Club status.

As a club we strive to provide a friendly and structured environment in which the game of football can be fun and enjoyable. We are keen to encourage the values of fair play and respect to those in our club and maintain our FA Charter Standard Club; whilst also remaining a family friendly club.
